A Major Upgrade at the Courtyard Bothy

We are thrilled to announce a major upgrade at the Courtyard Bothy that aligns with our commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact.

We recently installed solar panels harnessing the power of the sun to provide clean and renewable energy, and a battery for storage which means that the energy produced can be used at any time of the day or night. This significant step not only enables us to contribute to a greener future but also enhances the overall experience for guests who are looking for a ‘green holiday’ in the Cairngorms National Park.

We now have access to an app which shows in real time how much energy we are producing and we are completely fixated on it. I'm not sure if this fixation will ever wear off! We have become real solar panel bores!

Whilst we currently have a big loan to pay off, our electricity bills have dropped significantly and we are more protected from future energy price hikes. This not only helps us maintain affordable rates for guests but also contributes to our overall sustainability goals.

Enhanced Guest Experience: Guests can enjoy the modern amenities and conveniences of the Courtyard Bothy with an uninterrupted power supply during their stay. In the unlikely event of a power cut, the battery will kick in and provide power. The only thing you'd notice is a flicker of the TV or lights as it switches over. We are committed to providing our guests with a memorable and comfortable stay.
