Accommodation

What is self-contained holiday accommodation?
Down arrow

The Courtyard Bothy is a self-contained home which has all the facilities you need to cook your own meals, sleep comfortably and relax during your stay in Grantown on Spey. You do not share any of these facilities with us or any other guests.

What time can I check-in and check-out?
Down arrow

Check-in is from 4pm. Occasionally we are able to accommodate an earlier check-in and if you'd like this please get in touch before your stay. On your departure day, we ask that you leave the Bothy by 10am to give us time to get everything ready for our next guests.

Do you have a specific changeover day?
Down arrow

You are welcome to book your holiday from any day of the week. We do not specify changeover days at the Courtyard Bothy which gives you the flexibility to book your holiday for when it suits you.

How many people can you accommodate?
Down arrow

The Bothy is suitable for two guests and up to two medium sized dogs.

Can you accommodate babies / children?
Down arrow

We have a travel cot and high chair available for babies, but I'm afraid that we only have one king size bed and seating for two in the living areas, therefore we are unable to accommodation older children unless they are one of the 2 people in the booking. If you would like to borrow our cot and high chair, please let us know in advance.

Are there any guidelines for bringing my dog?
Down arrow

We have a Dog Policy which we send you when you make your booking, if you are bringing a dog. If you would like to see this prior to booking with us, please ask.

Is the Courtyard Bothy accessible for wheelchair users?
Down arrow

The Bothy is on one level and it may be suitable for anyone who is able to walk around aided with a stick once indoors. Unfortunately there is not enough room to access the bathroom in a wheelchair. The outdoor area is a stony courtyard so this would also need to be considered. Please contact us if you would like to discuss any accessibility requirements before booking.

Do you have laundry facilities?
Down arrow

We don't have any facilities on site, but we highly recommend the Red Sock Launderette in our High Street. You can drop off your laundry with them and they will wash and iron it for you.

Can we smoke at the Bothy?
Down arrow

Smoking is not permitted inside the Bothy. We request that guests smoke away from the front doors of the bothy.

Is there parking at the Bothy?
Down arrow

A parking space is allocated to you during your stay. As you drive in, you will see it directly ahead of you next to the Bothy's entrance gate and garden.

Is there storage available for bikes, golf clubs, skis?
Down arrow

We have plenty of space in our garage to store any bulky items. Just let us know before arrival what you will be bringing and we will provide you with access.

Can I charge my electric vehicle?
Down arrow

We have a Type 2 electric vehicle charging point, which you are welcome to use during your stay for a small fee. Let us know prior to arrival if you would like to use it. There is also a fast charging point one block away in the Burnfield Car Park which is free of charge.

Can we pick the fruit in the garden?
Down arrow

Yes! Please help yourself to the fruit growing in our garden. We have strawberries, blueberries, apples and rhubarb. The rhubarb is great boiled for a few minutes with sugar and cinnamon. Pop it on top of your porridge or simply eat it with a bit of ice cream - very tasty!!

What is the weather forecast for Grantown on Spey?
Down arrow

Grantown on Spey is sheltered by the surrounding hills, which means we often have dry weather. Obviously, it can rain here but we normally get showers as opposed to days on end of constant rain, although we can't guarantee anything! We can also get all four seasons in one day! In the winter it can be cold, we have experienced -18 degrees, and we get snow. In Spring the temperature starts to warm up although overnight we can still get a cold frost. Days are long in Summer with the sun only setting for a few hours some days. Our favourite season is Autumn when the leaves change colour, the nights start drawing in, the Bothy feels cosy and the apples in the garden are ripe and ready for picking. You can check the latest forecast at the Met Office.

Down arrow

We encourage all guests to spend at least one day of their holiday discovering Grantown on foot. There are miles of walking trails in the community owned woodlands and many attractions which you can see on our Explore pages. A lot of Grantown is dog friendly and we have indicated this where we can on our site.
