Protocols
whilst there is a threat of COVID-19

  • Will you be open during COVID-19?
When we are required to close by the Scottish Government, we will be closed to all guests other than key workers. If you are a key worker and want to book with us, we may ask for additional information about your work.
We are in the 'Highlands' Council area. When Scotland is open on a tiered basis, we will be open if the tier we are in permits it.
  • Cancellation
If we are required to close by the Scottish Government we will cancel your booking free of charge whether you have booked with us directly or through a third party.
If you booked with us directly and need to cancel your booking because you are not permitted to travel due to COVID-19, we will offer free cancellation up to 14 days prior to your arrival date. Within 14 days of your arrival date, we will offer you the option to rearrange your booking or there will be a 50% cancellation charge. We recommend that guests booking holidays take out travel insurance to cover cancellation costs.
If you booked via a booking agent, for example booking.com or AirBNB, the cancellation policy shown on your booking applies.
  • Scottish Government Requirements
We are following Scottish Government guidance which may differ from the guidance given in England or other countries. If you are unsure of anything at all, please ask.
  • Cleaning Regime
We have implemented an enhanced cleaning regime which is in line with Government guidelines and industry standards. As a result, we ask you to carry out some specific tasks before departure from the Bothy. We also leave a supply of cleaning products in the Bothy for guests to use if they wish to do so during their stay.
  • Rotating Items
We have two sets of most things for the Bothy, and rotate these after each stay. So, if something looks a bit different from how you would expect it to look, or there are only two of something that you would expect more of, this will be why.
  • Feeling Unwell
If you, or a member of your party, develop symptoms prior to your stay, you must follow the latest NHS / Government guidance and not travel under any circumstances. Please let us know you will not be staying with us.
If you, or a member of your party, develop symptoms during your stay, you must follow the guidance provided to you in the Bothy on arrival.
if you, or a member of your party, develop symptoms within 14 days of your stay and atest confirms infection please let us know immediately to allow us to follow our deep cleanprotocols.
  • Washing Hands
We encourage all guests to wash their hands regularly and we have soap at the sinks in the kitchen and bathroom. We also provide hand sanitizer for guests to use on entering the Bothy.
  • Face Masks
We ask guests to bring their own face masks. It is mandatory to wear face coverings in all indoor establishments in Scotland unless you have a medical reason not to do so.
  • Payment
We ask guests to pay before arrival by bank transfer to avoid unnecessary contact and reduce social distancing. We will send details regarding payment to you prior to arrival.
  • Saying 'Hello'
We would love to pop over and say hello to guests, but to maintain social distancing, we shall instead give you a wave and have a socially distant chat over the fence if we see you during your stay. All guests are given our contact details to speak to us if anything is needed during a stay.
